這首Wake Me Up 振奮心情又正向的歌詞，讓我第一次聽了就非常喜歡，在Vevo上也曾被公認是最有感染力的歌曲之一。心想總有一天要好好翻譯這首歌，讓大家認識一下。這首歌每一句歌詞我都好喜歡，每一句都想拿來當佳句。當初聽到and love is the prize這句時，我很感動。這世界上有太多憎恨、比較、辱罵，有時我實在很難過，思考著到底如何連接大家一條心，而愛就是最後的解答。當你徬徨、覺得無助時，這首歌能給你帶來些勇氣跟振奮。

可惜在2018年4月，某天打開手機新聞看到標題打著他逝世的消息，我覺得非常突然又惋惜。Avicii曾在訪問中說過，他很愛他的粉絲，但他其實是個個性低調、不喜歡在鎂光燈下的人。這或許跟他之後患有精神疾病所苦有關。雖然難過，但Avicii想傳達給世人的意念，相信會跟著歌曲傳遞到人們心中。

演唱者小檔案：

本名Tim Bergling，生於1989年，來自瑞典的DJ、擅長編曲之外也是非常有才氣的年輕詞曲作家。2011年憑單曲《Levels》打入樂壇，往後期多材的表現，廣受矚目。擅長將電子音樂與鄉村音樂、多種音樂風格…等搭配融合，這首Wake Me Up在歐洲許多國的單曲榜上均名列榜首，並在美國單曲榜排名第四。2018年因飽受長期精神問題所困苦，於阿曼的馬斯喀特(阿曼首都)自殺，享年28歲。

   (1) tell有說、斷定．．等的意思。英文裡I can tell 中的tell並非如字面上 "說或講"的意思，而是指"我看得出來" 有能分辨、知曉的意味。
   例如： You can tell he has been working hard. 你可以知道(看得出來)他努力工作。
   而歌詞中I can't tell，就是說"我無法得知、我不知道"
   
   
3. Caught up in a dream
   Caught 是Catch 的過去式，捉住的意思
   Catch up有以下幾個意思：
   (1) 跟上、趕上的意思，例如：I need to catch up to my sister. She is walking way too fast.
   (2)聯繫某人，聯繫某人用with例如：I will catch up with you later! 我晚點跟你聯絡! 
         例如：We really need to catch up. 我們真的必須更新一下彼此的近況了。
   (3) 而這裡歌詞是用catch 的被動caught，被捉住，所以是被一場夢捉住，在夢境裡的意思。
   
   
4. That’s fine by me
   通常我們講" that's fine" ，指"沒關係"的意思。
   "Fine by me" 則是I'm okay with it，沒什麼意見、我不介意的意思。也常見"Fine with me"。
   
   
5. I hope I get the chance
   (1)  hope/ wish
       最常看到hope跟wish 差別在那的困擾。這裡指點出最基本辨別的方式就是"發生的可能性"。
      -  Hope 是希望某件事，且可能會發生。
         例如：I hope you can come to my party. 我希望你能來我的派對 。(對方可能會來)
       - Wish 也是希望某件事，但可能不會發生，或是發生的是事與願違。
         例如：I wish you came to my party. 我希望你有來我的派對 (對方並沒有去)
        Wish 也有"祝福"的意思，
      例如：I wish you a very happy Christmas!
   
   
6. I tried carrying the weight of the world
   Weight 是指重量，這裡weight of the world 直接看起來是"世界的重量"，而實際上是用來表示"很沉重的責任或擔憂"
   如有人說" He seems like carrying the weight of the world"表示他正承受著很大的責任或是負擔。
   除了用carry，也可以用have/ has，例如：He has the weight of the world on his shoulder.
   
   
7. Life’s a game made for everyone
   - "Made for" 是" 為...而製作"的意思。例如：This cake is made for you.這是為你而做的蛋糕。
   - "Made of"則是 "由...(通常是某材料)而製成"的意思。例如：This cake is made of egg and butter. 這蛋糕是由雞蛋和奶油做成的。

⭐英文重點：

1. A dream so big and loud

           Dream big – 指要人發大夢，有志向的意思。

           Dream loud- 或是Dream out load 是指與其只是將夢想在腦中當白日夢空想，不如實際 去做使他成真。

          通常我們說Think out loud/aloud -就是將腦袋裡的東心表達出來，想到什麼就說什麼。

          不過以上解釋的dream 是當動詞，這裡的dream 是名詞，因此兩個合在一起，我們可以說是我有一個很大的夢想，大而鮮明。

2. Stretch hands out to the sky

           Stretch out伸展的意思，stretch out to the sky 就是伸展到天空

           其他類似用法還有

• Reach for the sky –

          1956年有一部電影就叫做Reach for the Sky，reach for 有伸手去拿的意思，reach for the sky就是伸手去觸碰到天空，而當然不可能，因此比喻指設定目標，奮力成為最好的意思。

• Hands in the sky -  

           直譯的話是指把手放到天空，也就是把手伸起來的意思。

3. Dance through the night

          Through 本身有從某一端到另一端的意思，例如：She walks through the park every morning.

 或是因為某事或某物而得到的結果，例如：She got the top grade through hard work.

 另，在這裡指某一件事情的開始到結束，例如：He worked through the night. 他從晚上的開始到結束都在工作，也就是徹夜工作的意思。

因此，through the night指徹夜，dance through the night就是徹夜跳舞。

4.  Never look back

Look back 通常是指往後看的意思，也可以當作回想過去曾經發生過的事。例如： When I look back when we were young, things didn’t seem that bad.

 所以這裡說I'm never gonna look back，就是我不回首過去，而要繼續向前

       5.  The stars were burning so bright

            星星得成因大部分是外太空的恆星反射而來的，而恆星的亮光是因為內部進行核融合反應而來的。所以說the star is burning(在燃燒) 是可以的說法，我們通常說星星在閃爍會說the star is shinning。不過這裡因為歌曲的風格跟意象是比較活力、激烈的，所以選擇用burn。

6.   Lose control

• Lose control 失控，是指(暫時)失去了本身自制力，通常只情緒上或心理上的失控。

           另外也常常指失控的說法有：

• Out of control-

          指無法再處理，通常只外在或外力因素。
          例如：The fire gets out of control.

• Beyond control -

           也是失控，指某件事或人超出本身能夠控制的範圍或能力intervention will help things
           例如：The circumstances are beyond our control.

       而Under control 就是跟以上相反的意思，指事情在控制之下，或掌控之中。       例如：The situation is under our control.

  

7.  Everything is looking up

          通常我們說look up 是指向上看的意思，而如果我們說一件事情或情況is looking up，是指事情或情況的發展正越來越好。
           例如：Things are finally looking up for me.  

          但事情的發展如果越來越不好可以說 'things are looking down’ 嗎？          其實不太能，但你可以這麼說: It's taken a turn for the worse.
